“If there's one thing I'm willing to bet on, it's myself” - Beyoncé
The beginning of a new year is always a time for goal settings and looking ahead. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the year we leave behind and celebrate it.
Cesar joined the GJ Roadmap in September 2020, today he reflects back on his experience.
1. What caused you to join the GJ Roadmap?
Well, my particular case was that, I've met both of you [Georges & Janelle]. I have high respect for both of you and the project seemed like a conjunction of two different talents. The synergy was an interesting part, so my curiosity was high. I guess the final product of having on one side Janelle and on the other side Georges was something that would be interesting.
2. What was your overall experience of the GJ Roadmap?
I really liked it; it was really enjoyable. The constant handover from Georges and Janelle gave really nice rhythm as far as the dynamic, and the content was really good. I think it is due to the combination of both of your talents. I learned a lot. My time was well invested.
3. What were your biggest takeaways?
Well, the importance of having a strategic vision and a clear strategy before you get into the aesthetics of the membership website. There was a lot of emphasis on the strategic content, regarding how you are going to differentiate yourself, how important it is to niche or micro niche instead of being, or trying to be, everything for everyone. I think that I got more from the sessions being part of a group than if you and Janelle had given me the same amount of time just for myself. The questions that other attendees had as well as their vision for their membership site was also enriching.
It was also fun to see the hype that was created all along the Roadmap. With the raffle that you made, it was a very pleasant experience, and I think the sense of community really evolved throughout the sessions. At the conclusion of each session there was already some sense of anticipation for the next session. You ended up knowing that you had gained value and knowledge and in the next session something more was coming up.
I think that there are more challenges for two people or for two facilitators to instruct than when you have only one. But the way that you two were handling the content seemed almost like a dance, very coordinated and smooth.
4. How did the GJ Roadmap help you cast a vision for your future membership or online plans?
Not only did I learn a lot, I'm now also able to use what I learned and help my friends too.
5. What would you say to somebody who is on the fence about joining the GJ Roadmap?
That it's highly concentrated content you get exposed to. If you're completely new to digital business, you're still going to get a broad view. If you're not a newbie to digital business, you are still going to learn new things and see core concepts being delivered with a unique emphasis and/or vision. Both Georges and Janelle are really committed to delivering good value in a short time.
